Board of Directors and Executive Officers and Committees

Edson Gustavo Georgette Peli has been the Chairman of our Board of Directors since April 18, 2024 and a member of our Board of Directors since September 2, 2020. Mr. Peli has also served on Vitru Brasil’s Board of Directors since October 2015. In addition to our company, Mr. Peli is a member of the Board of Directors of Rede D’Or São Luiz S.A., Combio Energia S.A. and Ri Happy Brinquedos S.A., and an alternate member of the Board of Directors of Madero Indústria e Comércio S.A. Mr. Peli was also Managing Director of The Carlyle Group in São Paulo, where he joined in 2008, focusing on investment opportunities in Brazil and other South American countries. Mr. Peli remained with The Carlyle Group until its Brazilian operations were acquired by SPX Capital in May 2021, where he is currently a Partner. Since starting his career in private equity in 2008, Mr. Peli has been involved in the investment and management of more than R$6 billion in investments in the healthcare, education, consumer & retail and renewable energy sectors. Before joining The Carlyle Group, Mr. Peli worked in investment banking at Credit Suisse Brasil S.A., from December 2004 to February 2008, where he was involved in mergers and acquisitions and capital markets, having participated in more than 30 transactions in various sectors. Prior to joining Credit Suisse Brazil, Mr. Peli worked in risk analysis at Banco Citibank S.A. from February 2004 to December 2004. Mr. Peli holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the São Paulo School of Business Administration of the Getulio Vargas Foundation, with a specialization in Corporate Finance and Capital Markets from the University of Texas at Austin.

Ms. Camila Cardoso Rotella holds a degree in Business Administration from FGV-SP and an Executive MBA from Harvard Business School. Her background includes 7 years in strategy consulting at Bain & Company and 11 years in the education sector at Cogna and Somos Educação, where she led the new business, academic, technology, and operations areas. She currently heads QuintoAndar’s rental, purchase, and sale operations in Brazil.

Catherine Howes Coimbra Thome is a member of the team at SPX Private Equity Gestão de Recursos Ltda. Previously, she worked for six years at Vinci Partners and one year at GP Investimentos. She holds a degree in Economics from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio).

Mr. Argalji is a member of our board of directors since November 17, 2022, and is a senior partner and member of the Executive Committee of Crescera Investimentos, responsible for investments in the Education Private Equity sector, since 2009. He was a member of the Finance Committee of Abril Educação, and a member of the board of directors at Anima Educação and Afya Limited. He is also currently a member of the board of AOVS Sistemas de Informática S/A (Alura). He holds an economics degree from IBMEC.

Igor Lima currently holds board positions at Peers Consulting + Technology, Inspira Rede de Educadores, Fundação Maria Cecília Souto Vidigal, the ITA Endowment, and serves as a board observer at Magnopus, a technology company based in California. In addition to being an angel investor in startups, he is a mentor and a former ambassador for Endeavor Brazil. He was also a partner at Clave Capital, CEO and one of the founders of Instituto Sonho Grande (NGO), co-founder of Mira Educação (edtech), COO and VP of Integration at Kroton, and a consultant at McKinsey.

Mariana Moura Wyatt is a partner and co-founder at 23S Capital. Prior to 23S Capital, Ms. Wyatt worked for 10 years at Temasek, where she was responsible for investments in Brazil. Before Temasek, she worked in the investment banking departments of Goldman Sachs and Citigroup. She is currently a board member at Bionexo S.A. and Clínica SIM Holdings Ltd. (SiMCo) and a member of the executive committees at Samedil Serviços de Atendimento Médico S.A. (MedSênior). She was also a member of the finance committee of Zamp S.A. (Burger King in Brazil), the strategic committee at Smartfit Escola de Ginástica e Dança S.A. and the risk committee at Superbac Biotechnology Solutions S.A. Ms. Wyatt holds an undergraduate degree in business administration from the Escola de Administração de Empresas de São Paulo da Fundação Getulio Vargas and an MBA from Columbia Business School.

Mr. Ruy Kameyama has extensive experience in publicly traded companies. He holds a degree in Economics from IBMEC-RJ and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He served as Chief Executive Officer of brMalls from 2017 to 2023 and subsequently as Chief Executive Officer of the A&R Co business unit from 2024 to 2026. His professional experience also includes investment banking roles at Dresdner Kleinwort, as well as board positions at Abrasce and Grupo Soma.

Wilson de Matos Silva is a member of our board of directors since May 20, 2022. Mr. de Matos Silva is the founder and former dean of Unicesumar. He is also a founder of the educational group Colégio Objetivo – Unidade Maringá. Prior to this, Mr. de Matos Silva was a University Professor at the state university of Universidade Estadual de Maringá-PR and at Universidade Paranaense. Mr. de Matos Silva has a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina as well as a specialization in advanced calculus from Universidade Estadual de Londrina.

Mr. Gabriel Lobo worked for 7 years at Grupo SOMA, brazilian fashion group, owner of brands such as Farm, Hering, Animale, among others, where he held the position of Chief Financial Officer and Investor Relations Officer. At Grupo SOMA, Gabriel led several transformational projects, including the company’s IPO, the acquisition of key brands for the portfolio, and, more recently, the merger with Arezzo&Co, which created the Azzas 2154 group. Prior to Grupo SOMA, Gabriel worked at BHG – Brazil Hospitality Group, a company created by GP Investimentos, and at Grupo Globo. Gabriel holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro – UFRJ, an LL.M (Master of Laws) from Fundação Getúlio Vargas – FGV, and Executive Education from Harvard Business School.

With a dual degree in Civil Engineering from the Federal University of Ceará and École Centrale de Lille (France), and an Executive MBA from IESE Business School in Barcelona, Mr. José Aroldo brings a solid and proven leadership track record, with extensive experience in both distance and on-campus education operations. Over the past 15 years, he has held strategic positions at YDUQS, serving as CEO of Estácio and Wyden for the past two years.
